Opera Idol is about to rock Auckland:

9 - 12 September at the Opera Factory Newmarket. School students of all ages are invited to participate these school holidays for a place in the finals, including cash awards and scholarships for extended training, and public performance opportunities.

The Opera Factory provides an annual programme of performance, opportunity, education and training for enthusiastic singers of all levels, specifically for singers intending a professional career. “A core mission of the Factory has always been to stimulate a lifelong love of opera, helping students develop the performance skills and knowledge in the performing arts through first-hand experience.

"This event is an opportunity for Auckland’s students to compete in a friendly and encouraging environment and demonstrate their vocal skills in a more classical context” says Opera Factory Director Sally Sloman.

The audition fee is $15 and entry forms are downloadable here.
